The Original Footless was the first Spanx product on the market. Footless and Spanx became synonymous during Spanx' first year due to the fact that this was the first product offered by Spanx. Founder Sara Blakely had to wear pantyhose to work every day. She knew that control top pantyhose made her backside look better but she didn't want to wear them with her open toed shoes. So, she cut the feet out and had her very first "ah ha!" moment. After months of the original footless being on the market Spanx had many, many requests for one with more tummy control.
